About this role

VHB’s Atlanta office seeks a Civil Site Designer to join its Land Development team. The firm shapes communities across the eastern United States through projects of varying size and scope for commercial, residential, industrial, and hospitality clients.

Designers collaborate with professionals across disciplines on land development work that includes municipal governments, federal agencies such as the National Park Service and Army Corps of Engineers, and State DOTs. The role centers on site civil engineering plans and specifications for complex projects.

Daily tasks involve civil engineering design and permitting for residential, industrial, hospitality, institutional, and commercial sites. Work covers grading and drainage, utilities, roadways, and parking, plus preparation of plans and reports for State and local permitting.

Requirements

BS in Civil Engineering or related field
0-1 years of engineering experience
AutoCAD, HydroCAD and StormCAD experience preferred
Competent with Microsoft Office products
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
Self-motivated with strong desire to learn and grow
Ability to think critically and creatively

Responsibilities

Develop site civil engineering plans and specifications for complex land development projects
Perform civil engineering design and permitting for residential, industrial, hospitality, institutional, and commercial sites
Design grading and drainage, utilities, roadways, and parking facilities
Prepare plans and reports in support of State and local permitting
