About this role

Due to success and growth Downer seeks a Project Manager to join the Energy and Utilities team within the Three Waters Division. This is an excellent stage to develop and grow the business further for the Auckland region.

Work with key people on identifying engineering solutions, scoping, methodology, estimating, planning, programming and delivering projects. Set parameters and direction to teams and subcontractors so works meet specifications and client expectations.

Take overall responsibility for sites including quality, appearance, cleanliness, compliance and health and safety. Drive strong commercial outcomes through cost control, forecasting, reporting and claims management while building trusted client relationships.

Downer's Energy and Utilities business is an integrated trans-Tasman team providing design, build, operate and maintain services across water, electricity and telecommunications sectors with in-house technical capabilities.

Requirements

  • Relevant engineering and/or project, construction or civil management qualifications
  • Minimum of five years Three Waters construction project experience
  • Proven experience within a contracting environment
  • Strong project delivery expertise including scoping, costing, planning and execution
  • Demonstrated commitment to Zero Harm and HSEQ leadership
  • Broad understanding of construction and civil engineering practices, standards and financial controls
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with strong prioritisation and time management

Responsibilities

  • Work with key people on identifying engineering solutions, scoping, methodology, estimating, planning, programming and delivering projects
  • Set parameters, direction and requirements to teams and subcontractors to meet specifications and client expectations
  • Take overall responsibility for sites including quality of work, compliance and health and safety
  • Ensure regular reporting, record keeping and quality controls are carried out
  • Drive strong commercial outcomes including cost control, forecasting, reporting and claims management
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships based on trust, integrity and open communication
  • Manage operations to achieve superior safety, environmental and quality performance
