Turner Construction Company

Dallas, US · Contract · $90,000 – $130,000

About this role

This role focuses on designing structural systems for offsite manufactured and modular building components, including analysis, connection design, and detailing. You will ensure structural integrity, safety, and compliance while optimizing for transport, assembly, and on-site installation.

Day-to-day responsibilities include developing structural designs for steel framing, supports, foundations, and connections using tools like SAP2000, STAAD, Inventor, and Revit. You will perform finite element modeling, create detailed engineering drawings, and collaborate with architects, mechanical and electrical engineers to integrate components seamlessly.

You will work within the xPL Offsite Manufacturing team at Turner Construction, engaging in client-facing discussions and cross-functional coordination to mitigate risks and finalize designs. The environment emphasizes independent judgment in engineering decisions and close partnership with manufacturing to optimize production and site installation.

This position offers the opportunity to stay current on innovations in structural engineering and offsite construction techniques, support R&D efforts for new products, and contribute to technical studies, cost estimates, and proposal evaluations. It is a salaried exempt role based in Huntsville, AL, with limited travel.
