This role forms part of our 12-week paid summer Vacation Program, running between November 2026 and February 2027. Fugro’s Vacation Program serves as a key recruitment strategy for future Graduate offers. It creates a platform for hands-on experience to assess career fit while showcasing your ability, motivation, and attitude.
As a Vacation Student - Design Engineer in West Perth, you will support teams in Project Design and Structural Engineering Design. Tasks include design of steel structures, subsea installation aids, or similar, along with performing design calculations and assisting the project engineering team as required.

Requirements
- Be in your penultimate year of your degree
- Proficient in SolidWorks or other 3D modelling software
- Working knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel
- Good verbal communication, interfacing and writing skills
- Applicants from Mechanical Engineering, Civil/Structural Engineering, Naval Architecture, or similar fields
- Hands-on practical experience (motorsports team, previous trade, hobbyist, etc.) an advantage
Responsibilities
- Design steel structures, subsea installation aids, or similar
- Perform design calculations
- Assist project engineering team as required
- Support Project Design and Structural Engineering Design
- Contribute to marine asset integrity projects
- Model structures using 3D software
- Aid in subsea IRM and marine operations tasks
