The Data Center Engineering team advances physical designs for data centers into the future. Our lab mirrors a research and development department where cutting-edge strategies are born, tested, and refined. You act as owner’s engineer and primary technical lead for civil and structural discipline in hyperscale data centers.

Lead review and validation of civil and structural designs from external consultants. Critically audit program drawings, data center site plans, and typical utility layouts. Take ownership of programmatic template designs and drive improvements to structural and civil design standards.

Coordinate seamlessly with geotechnical, electrical, mechanical, architectural, systems, and telecom teams. Ensure all designs optimize for cost, schedule, and reliability. Serve as expert ensuring compliance with codes and standards while developing infrastructure improvements.

Generate ideas and communicate recommendations to senior-level executives. Drive implementation alongside facilities technicians, optimizing efficiencies in power usage and environmentally-friendly facilities. Continuously seek improvements, even small changes with huge impact.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or equivalent practical experience
3 years of experience in civil/structural or site engineering
Experience with building design, coordination, and construction
Experience implementing civil/structural engineering principles (e.g., grading and drainage, hydraulic modeling, sediment control, erosion control, or soil migration)
Experience working as an owner’s engineer or lead design engineer in mission-critical facilities such as data centers
Experience in drafting technical scopes of work, managing external engineering consultants, and evaluating complex technical proposals
Knowledge of international building codes (e.g., IBC, Eurocode) alongside local municipal regulations
