Coordinate or manage a team delivering technical design work on complex multi-disciplinary projects. Produce and review design reports, drawings, calculations and scopes of work covering hydraulics, wastewater, clean water infrastructure, water reuse and pipelines. Provide technical input while managing time and budgets to key milestones.
Work within the Design & Advanced Technology Practice alongside clients such as United Utilities, Yorkshire Water, Scottish Water and Northern Ireland Water. Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams in the UK and overseas while adhering to quality assurance standards. Hybrid working involves three days per week office or site based.
Receive mentorship support and help grow Civil Water Engineering capabilities within the local team. Exercise personal judgement on difficult problems and provide guidance to junior colleagues. Become part of a diverse and inclusive environment where every voice matters.
Requirements
- A degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
- Chartered or Incorporated Civil Engineer.
- Proven experience in coordinating or managing a Civil Water engineering design delivery team for a design consultancy.
- Proven experience in collaborating with Contractors and delivering across the full project lifecycle.
- Ability to work independently with minimal technical guidance on complex projects.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate or manage a team of Civil Water engineers for delivery of technical design work on complex multi-disciplinary projects.
- Produce and review technical deliverables such as design reports, drawings, calculations and scopes of work.
- Provide technical input into project design deliverables for Civil Water aspects of complex multi-disciplinary projects.
- Work with the project management team to successfully manage time and budgets to key project milestones.
- Collaborate with client, operational, project or service activities within immediate team and other related teams.
- Provide mentorship to less experienced colleagues and help grow Civil Water Engineering capabilities.
- Work independently with minimal technical guidance and exercise personal judgement to solve difficult problems.
- Provide technical support for bid proposals and adhere to quality assurance standards including check and review.
