About this role
Orion has immediate openings for a Heavy Civil Construction Project Manager in Tampa, FL. This position is accountable for providing project engineering management support to Orion Marine Contractors and for providing superior customer relations. The role involves developing bid packages, calculating project costs, and procuring materials and services.
Works with the Project Management Team to ensure successful completion and profitability of ongoing or new projects. Provides overall project management guidance and oversight to Superintendents and Foremen for current approved marine construction projects. Develops bid proposals and negotiates contracts and change orders as required.
Interprets project plans and specifications for customers, suppliers, and others involved in the project. Schedules project work activities according to plan timelines to ensure timely completion. Ensures that project team members are provided a safe work environment and are knowledgeable of safe work practices.
Participates in Safety and Environmental initiatives to contribute to compliance with State and Federal regulations. Responsible for personal safety and the safety of all co-workers, authorized to stop work on any unsafe task. Performs other related administrative and technical duties as assigned.
Requirements
- BS Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in heavy civil or marine construction project management.
- Proven ability to develop bid proposals, estimate costs, and negotiate contracts.
- Strong knowledge of construction safety regulations and commitment to safe work practices.
- Ability to interpret project plans, specifications, and technical documents.
- Valid driver's license and physical ability to visit work locations and job sites.
Responsibilities

- Schedules project work activities according to plan timelines to ensure timely project completion.
