ManTech seeks a motivated Structural Engineer to join our team supporting the Military Sealift Command (MSC). This fully remote position requires occasional travel to Chesapeake or Norfolk, VA, for client meetings and events.

In this role, you will leverage your strong technical background to ensure the structural integrity, strength, and stability of diverse marine structures and waterborne vessel hulls. You will perform detailed structural analyses and finite element analyses (FEA) to evaluate hull integrity and operational safety for naval crafts operating on the sea surface.

Requirements

  • Strong technical background in structural engineering
  • Knowledge of marine structures and waterborne vessel hulls
  • Experience with Finite Element Analyses (FEA) and structural analysis
  • Ability to travel occasionally to Chesapeake or Norfolk, VA, for client meetings and events
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
  • Proficiency in developing technical reports and calculations for weight, moment, and stability

Responsibilities

  • Performing professional architectural, engineering, and scientific work relating to the form, strength, and performance of marine structures
  • Conducting detailed Structural Analyses and Finite Element Analyses (FEA) to evaluate vessel hull integrity and operational safety
  • Developing technical reports and calculations for Weight and Moment, Stability
  • Supporting Military Sealift Command (MSC) engineering and design efforts
  • Ensuring structural integrity, strength, and stability of diverse marine structures and waterborne vessel hulls
  • Meeting critical operational characteristics for naval crafts operating on the sea surface
