About this role

The Tsui Group is seeking a qualified and experienced Construction Manager III to join our aviation team in Los Angeles County. This position is responsible for managing the scope, cost, schedule, and operational interfaces of all design and construction related activities for the program.

Day-to-day duties include monitoring all on-site field construction activities and ensuring operations follow approved work plans and Area Shutdown Requests. The manager will work closely with the Design/Builder and stakeholders to develop overall planning, identify critical milestones, and review Contractor Potential Change Order Claims for merit.

This role requires proven ability to perform in a management capacity, with comprehensive knowledge of various disciplines used during construction. The manager will ensure effective implementation of all policies and procedures, including project labor agreement policies, and contribute to the advancement of TDG's goals through productive collaboration.

This position offers the opportunity to lead large-scale airport projects valued over $100 million, utilizing various delivery methods such as Design-Bid-Build, Design+CMAR, and Design/Build. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring sound and safe construction practices while maintaining quality control and efficiency.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of Construction Management experience, preferably on airport projects
  • Experience with projects more than $100 million in value
  • Experience with various delivery methods, including Design-Bid-Build, Design+CMAR, and Design/Build
  • Proven ability to perform in a management capacity
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and a thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam
  • Ability to work in CAD or REVIT preferred

Responsibilities

  • Monitor all on-site field construction activities associated with the completion of the project
  • Ensure construction operations follow approved work plans and Area Shutdown Requests and all proper notifications are made
  • Work with Design/Builder and stakeholders to develop overall planning of construction activities and identify critical milestones and priorities
  • Review Contractor Potential Change Order Claims for merit and negotiate to final resolution
  • Prepare periodic reports summarizing progress of construction activities for higher-level management and clients
  • Ensure all work is performed and inspected to the latest versions of plans and specifications, including approved changes, submittals, and RFI's
  • Monitor budget estimates and staffing requirements for the defined scope and schedule
  • Participate in all necessary coordination meetings with the Design/Builder, trade partners, stakeholders, and LAWA Operations
