This role breaks down customer requirements and customizes solutions using standard details and engineered approaches.

Working with in-house and 3rd party design team members, the Design Engineer documents solutions in AutoCAD 2D and 3D software and prepares project documents for client and Manufacturing Team customers. Daily tasks include creating AutoCAD drawing sets inclusive of structural, architectural, and product specific design features.

A successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced challenging environment and exhibit excellent time management and problem-solving skills. This position requires a professional approach in working with third party engineers, project teams, and departments to address engineering and technical challenges in real-time.

Requirements

  • Fluent in AutoCAD and/or Revit
  • Two years’ experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 5+ years of experience without a degree
  • Experience working in construction or industrial production (mining, oil & gas, etc.)
  • Ability to read, write and speak English fluently
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with pdf editing software such as BlueBeam and/or Adobe

Responsibilities

  • Create AutoCAD drawing sets inclusive of structural, architectural, and product specific design features
  • Define project requirements from product/project development through order entry, manufacturing, and delivery
  • Develop and maintain product standards to fulfill customer requirements
  • Perform product research and specify materials and components to meet requirements
  • Conduct material take offs and develop BOMs and details for procurement
  • Serve as a technical resource to support manufacturing and installation activities by addressing engineering and technical challenges in real-time
  • Read and understand technical information, extracting critical information from specifications
  • Collaborate professionally with third party engineers, project teams, and departments
