TxDOT's Rail Division is excited to announce this Rail Project Manager opportunity based in the Beaumont District. Lead the railroad coordination for the state highway construction and other railroad-highway safety projects in a fast-growing area of Texas.

In this role, you will manage the intersection of rail and highway infrastructure, ensuring safe and efficient project delivery. Day-to-day activities include coordinating with railroad companies, reviewing design plans, and overseeing construction activities affecting rail corridors.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of railroad operations and rail-highway grade crossing safety
  • Experience managing transportation or infrastructure projects
  • Understanding of Federal Railroad Administration and state rail regulations
  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects with competing deadlines
  • Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office suite
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for infrastructure coordination

Responsibilities

  • Lead railroad coordination for state highway construction projects
  • Manage railroad-highway safety projects from planning through completion
  • Coordinate with railroad companies and stakeholders to ensure project alignment
  • Review and approve design plans and construction documents related to rail crossings
  • Monitor project budgets, schedules, and compliance with federal and state regulations
  • Prepare reports and presentations on project status and rail coordination activities
  • Conduct field inspections to verify railroad safety and construction quality
  • Resolve conflicts and issues arising between highway and railroad operations
