About this role

This role organizes and completes corporate and franchise construction projects, including new builds, offsets, remodels, refreshes, and reimages, for the QDOBA brand. The position partners with internal departments, external professionals, and contractors to ensure each project meets brand standards.

Day-to-day duties involve coordinating cross-functional teams, overseeing external project managers, and managing agency approvals for planning, zoning, design review, and building permits. The manager also ensures timely updates to schedules, budgets, and project documents within the online system.

The manager works closely with franchisees to provide guidance on budget development, site layout, contractor selection, and real estate negotiations. High-level partnerships with real estate managers, developers, and vendors are typical to maintain accuracy in site information and cost estimates.

This role offers the opportunity to mentor franchisees and external consultants while strategically managing multiple projects from concept through completion. Travel requirements are 70-80% with no relocation required, allowing for diverse project exposure across corporate and franchise locations.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5+ years of retail construction management experience, including at least 3+ years of owner-representative or corporate construction management
  • Previous experience in the development of fast casual, QSR, or other related restaurant concepts required; national brands preferred
  • Strong oral and written English communication, project management, negotiation, leadership, and organization skills
  • Thorough knowledge of applicable building codes, requirements, and state-of-the-art construction methods
  • In-depth understanding of design and function, and sound knowledge of commercial real estate transactions
  • Working knowledge of personal computers and related software applications (word processing, spreadsheets)
  • Advanced skill level of construction and real estate computer applications preferred
  • Demonstrates integrity and ethical behavior

Responsibilities

  • Partners with franchisees to ensure development goals and standards are understood and achieved
  • Coordinates work performed by cross-functional departments, external consultants, architects, engineers, and contractors
  • Instructs professionals to ensure timely and cost-effective agency approvals including planning, zoning, design review, and building permits
  • Ensures schedule, budget, and project document updates are accurate and key controls are maintained in the online project management system
  • Manages timely completion of new restaurants, major remodels, or refresh projects through strategic use of external consultants and contractors
  • Conducts high-level partnerships with real estate managers, developers, and vendors to verify project information and cost estimates
  • Sources, qualifies, and trains approved consultants and contractors
  • Performs other related duties, tasks, and responsibilities as assigned
