About this role

This role is responsible for activities related to construction, building, and commissioning on customer sites, from site mobilization through civil, erection, and commissioning work. The Electrical Site Engineer supports the Site Manager in executing hands-on substation erection, electrical installation, testing, and commissioning support during the ITO and/or OTR phase.

Day-to-day work involves ensuring schedule, quality, and cost compliance with contractual obligations, company policy, and local regulations. The role may lead site activities or smaller projects with virtual supervision from the Site Manager, requiring high levels of operational judgment and moderate autonomy.

The engineer acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience and may lead small projects with moderate risks and resource requirements. This position contributes towards strategy and policy development within the area of responsibility, serving as a best practice and quality resource.

This role offers the opportunity to develop specialized knowledge in electrical construction and substation erection, with awareness of the latest technical developments in the field. The engineer will use technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations, working to build consensus and influence others on topics within the discipline.

Requirements

  • Master's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma/GED with at least 6 years of experience in Job Family Group(s)/Function(s))
  • Significant experience in electrical construction, substation erection, site execution, commissioning activities, and/or site leadership
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
  • Demonstrated ability to lead programs/projects
  • Knowledge of electrical installation, testing, commissioning, and substation construction practices
  • Familiarity with applicable electrical safety standards and field execution requirements

Responsibilities
