About this role
STV has an immediate opening for a Structural Engineering Specialist (Buildings) to join our growing team in the Buildings Division. This role offers the opportunity to work on exciting projects as part of a dedicated team of engineers.
Day-to-day tasks include the design of new structures such as buildings, retaining walls, and miscellaneous structures, as well as analysis of existing structures. You will also review or produce construction submittals and review contract plans for conformance with established design criteria.
The successful candidate will work on a wide variety of challenging projects in a collaborative team environment. This position provides a flexible career path with opportunities to pursue a technical track with increasing design and leadership responsibilities.

Requirements
- Minimum of 0-5 years of experience in structural engineer design
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s Degree preferred)
- Successful completion of the FE exam (EIT certification)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Revit, AutoCAD, and familiarity with structural analysis software packages
- Strong skills in structural analysis, steel and concrete design
- Good time management skills and a willing desire to learn
- Ability to work in a team environment
Responsibilities
- Preparing design calculations for buildings and other structures
- Developing structural and other drawings through Revit and AutoCAD software packages for buildings and other structures
- Producing design related reports
- Reviewing shop drawings and other construction submittals
- Reviewing contract plans for conformance with established design criteria
- Analyzing existing structures for condition assessment or retrofit design
