
About this role
Wood is offering a valuable co-op opportunity for Environmental Engineering students to shadow and learn from experienced professionals in our Environment team. This internship is designed to provide exposure to real-world environmental engineering practices through observation, mentoring, and guided learning.
During the internship, students will observe how environmental data is collected, analyzed, and interpreted. They will learn how site assessments are conducted to evaluate environmental impacts of various activities and gain insight into how engineers assess human influence on environmental systems.
Interns will explore how Wood addresses key challenges like climate change, renewable energy, and resource security. They will learn about the design and implementation of environmental protection projects, such as air pollution management systems, and understand the process of ensuring compliance with environmental and health regulations in project design.
Students will observe how technical reports are written and how findings are communicated effectively. This co-op provides direct mentorship from experienced engineers and exposure to diverse environmental projects across multiple disciplines.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Environmental Engineering or a related discipline.
- Curious, observant, and eager to learn from real-world projects.
- Strong analytical thinking and an interest in environmental problem-solving.
- Comfortable in a collaborative, team-oriented work environment.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrates a strong alignment with Wood’s values: care, curiosity, commitment, and courage.
- Proficiency in written English and interest in technical documentation.
