The Part-Time On-Call Senior Geotechnical Engineer will prepare technical reports, specifications, plans, and design foundations, retaining walls, and other geotechnical aspects of construction. This role offers partnership on premier land development projects.
Daily tasks include designing earth structures, deep foundations, support of excavation, and underpinning systems. You will scope and oversee geotechnical investigations, coordinate fieldwork, and perform inspections of geotechnical construction. Responsibilities also cover preparing standard logs, field forms, drilling logs, test pit logs, and chain of custody logs.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering required, Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering strongly preferred
- 3+ years of related geotechnical experience in geotechnical investigations and construction inspections
- FE/EIT certification preferred
- Office experience with investigation and field work coordination, geotechnical reports, and specification writing
- Prior field experience in earthwork, driven and drilled pile construction, load testing, footings subgrade and backfill inspection, ground improvements, retaining wall design and construction, and excavation support system design and inspection
- Desired software knowledge: gINT, Slide/SLOPE/W, PLAXIS, LPILE, GRLWEAP, MSEW, SHAKE
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities
Responsibilities
- Design earth structures, deep foundations, support of excavation and underpinning systems
- Assist project manager with field work coordination and project management support
- Scope and oversee geotechnical investigations and construction projects
- Periodically perform inspections of geotechnical construction
- Coordinate investigations and assist in geotechnical report writing
- Prepare standard logs and field forms, including drilling and test pit logs, field investigation dailies, and chain of custody logs
- Perform fieldwork as required
