About this role

Orion Marine Contractors has immediate openings for a Heavy Civil Construction Senior Project Manager in Hawaii. This position is accountable for providing project engineering management support and superior customer relations. It involves developing bid packages, calculating project costs, and selecting suppliers.

The role includes procuring materials and services, interpreting project plans, and scheduling work activities. Project oversight ensures successful completion and close out while interfacing with personnel. Bid proposals for marine construction projects must be developed and submitted on time.

Guidance is provided to Superintendents and Foremen on current marine construction projects. Contracts and change orders are negotiated as required by the business. Costs for materials, services, labor, and other items are estimated for upcoming projects.

Project team members receive a safe work environment and knowledge of safe practices. Participation occurs in Safety and Environmental initiatives to support regulatory compliance. All applicable laws, regulations, and company policies must be followed.

Requirements

  • BS Degree in Civil Engineering/Construction Management and 8 years’ experience required
  • Prior work experience in the marine construction industry required for degreed candidates
  • Equivalent work experience accepted in related discipline

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Project Management Team to ensure successful completion and profitability of projects
  • Provide overall project management guidance and oversight to Superintendents and Foremen
  • Develop bid proposals for marine construction projects and ensure timely submission
  • Negotiate contracts and change orders as required by the business
  • Estimate costs for materials, services, labor, and other items on upcoming projects
  • Procure materials and services from suppliers for current projects
  • Interpret project plans and specifications for customers, suppliers, and others
  • Schedule project work activities to ensure timely completion
