About this role
Northrop Grumman offers an opportunity to work on revolutionary systems that impact lives around the world. As an Environmental Engineer 2/3, you will be responsible for environmental and regulatory compliance, administering policies and updating standards to support site operations.
You will review metrics, create risk analyses, and adhere to EPA as well as state and local regulatory mandates. This includes working with regulations related to the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, EPCRA, and RCRA.
You will collaborate with internal and external partners including government entities, contractors, consultants, and operations teams. Your work will help drive an environmentally responsible culture and support sustainability initiatives.

Requirements
- Knowledge of US environmental laws and regulations
- Strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem-solving ability
- Self-motivation and ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Experience interpreting and applying environmental regulatory requirements
- Ability to manage environmental compliance for complex and technical projects
- Risk analysis skills and experience working with cross-functional teams
Responsibilities
- Interpret and communicate environmental requirements and identify compliance issues
- Act as a subject matter expert and coordinate key initiatives with facility personnel and legal
- Ensure inspections are completed for storm water, air quality, spill prevention, and other required areas
- Function as a point of contact for regulatory agency interactions, permit evaluation, and new process introductions
- Prepare and submit reports, permits, and notifications to federal, state, and local agencies
- Conduct internal environmental audits and complete incident investigations with corrective action follow-up
- Manage risk analysis of environmental risks based on tracking and trending of issues or incidents
- Support and direct sustainability initiatives across the organization
