At Fuss & O'Neill, we are a multidisciplinary engineering and environmental consulting firm focused on helping communities and clients create lasting positive impact. We are seeking an experienced Senior Environmental Professional | Project Manager to join our growing environmental practice in Connecticut.
This role involves leading complex environmental investigations, remediation programs, brownfield redevelopment projects, and regulatory compliance efforts. You will manage projects from planning through completion, overseeing scope, schedules, budgets, staffing, and deliverables.
You will serve as a trusted advisor to clients, maintaining strong relationships while providing technical leadership and oversight to multidisciplinary project teams. Collaboration across disciplines is key to delivering integrated solutions for clients throughout Connecticut and the Northeast.
This is a hybrid role, offering the flexibility of remote work part of the week while collaborating in-office with a high-performing team. You will also have the opportunity to mentor and support the growth of early-career and mid-level environmental professionals, helping shape the future of our Connecticut environmental practice.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering, civil engineering, environmental science, geoscience, or a related field.
- 8+ years of environmental consulting experience.
- Connecticut Licensed Environmental Professional (LEP) certification.
- Strong understanding of Connecticut environmental regulations and regulatory programs.
- Proven project management experience, including budget and schedule management.
- Demonstrated leadership and staff mentoring experience.
- Excellent communication, client management, and relationship-building skills.
- Strong technical writing and report preparation skills.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage environmental projects from planning through completion, including site investigations, remediation, permitting, compliance, and brownfield redevelopment initiatives.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, maintaining strong relationships and delivering exceptional service.
- Provide technical leadership and oversight to multidisciplinary project teams.
- Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, staffing, and deliverables.
- Ensure all project work meets regulatory requirements, quality standards, and client expectations.
- Contribute to business development efforts through client interaction, proposal preparation, networking, and pursuit of new opportunities.
- Mentor, supervise, and support the growth of early-career and mid-level environmental professionals.
- Collaborate with internal teams across disciplines to deliver integrated solutions for clients throughout Connecticut and the Northeast.
