Cundall’s leading Sustainability & Building Physics team is a key part of our international business. As a recognised leader in sustainability, we design innovative, sustainable and energy efficient solutions that minimise natural resources. We seek placements passionate about making a positive impact on our environment, homes, offices, industry and community.
This is an excellent opportunity for talented sustainability students to join our team in London in 2026. Working under guidance of experienced team, develop existing knowledge and skills in energy modelling. Assist with development of energy and sustainability strategies for new build and existing buildings.
Projects fall within key workstreams including building physics, performance optimisation, certification, health and wellbeing, net zero carbon, and ESG services. As a medium-sized international consultancy, we provide challenging projects while treating students as individuals. Gain real responsibility at an early stage.
Assume greater levels of responsibility and autonomy as professional skills develop. Supported and encouraged to work towards Chartership through accredited training schemes. Cundall values equality and diversity, welcoming applications regardless of protected characteristics.
Requirements
- On track to achieve a 2:1 or above
- Working towards a degree in Sustainability, the Built Environment or Engineering
- Preferably in second or third year of study
- Passion for improving the built environment
- Interest in design and sustainable design principles
- Organised and methodical approach to managing tasks and priorities
- Strive to meet deadlines
- Close appreciation of commercial factors affecting design solutions
Responsibilities
- Develop knowledge and skills in energy modelling
- Assist with development of energy and sustainability strategies for new build and existing buildings
- Work on building physics and parametric model services
- Optimise building performance and operational energy
- Support certification and compliance
- Provide health and wellbeing advice and guidance
- Deliver net zero and whole life carbon services
- Contribute to sustainability design and ESG services
