About this role

This role oversees structural and geotechnical design for major marine and coastal infrastructure projects, including revetments, ports, and shoreline protection. You will be responsible for all design and review activities, ensuring compliance with SMEC standards and relevant Filipino, British, and ASTM codes.

Day-to-day responsibilities include coordinating with design, construction management, and project control teams to facilitate construction progress. You will manage a team of design engineers, providing guidance on design management and project delivery, and prepare or approve letters related to design and geotechnical instrumentation issues.

The work environment involves close collaboration with clients, contractors, and government authorities independently during the design process. You will also review and approve reports, design specifications for tender documents, and support tender submissions to pursue new projects.

This position offers the opportunity to lead complex civil engineering projects in a reputable international firm. You will gain exposure to a wide range of structures—from foundations to above-ground works—using concrete and steel, and contribute to local and overseas initiatives.

  • Analyze, approve, and design soil improvement, geotechnical stability, and coastal protection works.
  • Analyze, approve, and design all structural/geotechnical elements from foundations to above-ground works across concrete (reinforced, pre/post-tensioned) and steel.
  • Review and approve design specifications for tender documents and support tender submissions for new projects.
