About this role

This position plans, develops budgets and directs both long- and short-term scheduled maintenance outage plans and construction plans. The role shares responsibility with plant management for safe, cost-effective and timely execution of those plans and major projects.

Project plans are developed to coordinate activities associated with outage tasks and capital investments. Construction projects are coordinated at various power plant locations to meet targeted time frames and budgets.

Interpersonal skills coordinate the work of many different work groups, vendors and contractors. Influencing skills challenge and gain acceptance for altering current practices as necessary.

Long- and short-term contracts for services and projects at the generating stations are negotiated and administered. Additional responsibilities are performed as requested or assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or technical field preferred or equivalent work experience
  • Six years of plant experience including two years in a senior technical/leadership role
  • Knowledge of outage project plans
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Effective interpersonal skills and leadership abilities
  • Effective analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Project management skills with ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks concurrently
  • Ability to work effectively with people of different backgrounds

Responsibilities

  • Develop project plans and coordinate activities associated with outage tasks and capital investments to meet time frames and budgets
  • Coordinate construction projects at various power plant locations
  • Coordinate the work of multiple work groups, vendors and contractors using interpersonal skills
  • Utilize influencing skills to challenge and gain acceptance for altering current practices
  • Ensure the safety of all employees involved with the work
  • Negotiate and administer long- and short-term contracts for services and projects at the generating stations
  • Perform additional responsibilities as requested or assigned
