EXP is an employee-owned company of engineers, architects, designers, and scientists dedicated to innovative solutions for the built and natural environments. As a Junior Geotechnical Engineering New Grad, you will join a collaborative team focused on infrastructure and construction projects.
Your day involves performing field investigations, conducting subgrade evaluations for roads and buildings, and carrying out soil compaction and concrete testing. You will ensure all testing complies with CCIL, CSA, ASTM, and project specifications while accurately documenting data and observations.
You will work closely with engineers, project managers, and field staff in a dynamic, safety-first environment that values attention to detail and problem-solving. The role offers exposure to construction sites, materials testing, and real-world engineering challenges.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field
- Eligibility for EIT registration (or actively pursuing)
- Strong interest in geotechnical engineering and field-based work
- Familiarity with construction drawings, specifications, and basic geotechnical concepts
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standardized testing procedures
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites
Responsibilities
- Perform field investigations and support geotechnical assessments for infrastructure and construction projects
- Conduct subgrade evaluations for roads, buildings, and related infrastructure
- Carry out field testing including soil compaction testing with nuclear density gauges and concrete testing (slump, air content, temperature, cylinder preparation)
- Ensure all testing procedures comply with applicable standards (CCIL, CSA, ASTM, and project specifications)
- Record and document field data, test results, and observations accurately and consistently
- Communicate site conditions and test results to engineers and project teams
- Support engineers in interpreting field data and preparing technical documentation and reports
- Assist with review of construction drawings, specifications, and geotechnical recommendations
