About this role

We're looking for a Senior Project Manager to drive delivery of complex, high-impact transport infrastructure projects from detailed design through to construction, shaping the way our city moves, connects, and thrives. You will lead a diverse portfolio including road upgrades, active transport, green infrastructure, and pedestrian bridges.

In this role, you'll lead multidisciplinary teams across that portfolio, providing strategic oversight and technical confidence. You'll manage staff and contractors to ensure performance against agreed targets and standards, from design through construction, with a strong focus on community consultation and customer service.

This position offers a hybrid, flexible working environment including some work-from-home days. You'll work a 72.5-hour fortnight with a 9-day fortnight schedule, based in Strathpine. You'll collaborate with staff and contractors to deliver meaningful infrastructure outcomes.

Requirements

  • Experience in infrastructure projects, with the ability to plan, organise, monitor, and manage staff and contractors to ensure performance against agreed targets and standards.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills in community consultation with a strong focus on customer service.
  • Tertiary qualification in engineering, construction management, or other relevant field (required).
  • Current C class driver’s licence (required).
  • Construction Induction Card competency (required).
  • Proven ability to deliver complex transport infrastructure projects from design through construction.
  • Strong strategic oversight and technical confidence in managing multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the delivery of complex, high-impact transport infrastructure projects from detailed design through to construction.
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams across a diverse portfolio including road upgrades, active transport, green infrastructure, and pedestrian bridges.
  • Plan, organise, monitor, and manage staff and contractors to ensure performance against agreed targets and standards.
  • Provide strategic oversight and technical confidence to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Engage with the community through consultation, maintaining a strong focus on customer service.
  • Manage project risks, safety, and environmental compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate with internal departments and external stakeholders to align project outcomes with city goals.
