About this role

This Project Manager role develops complete road projects from concept to completion. The position involves serving as the primary client contact and managing sub-consultants. Coordination with internal departments is essential for successful project delivery.

Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting meetings and composing agendas and minutes. The Project Manager certifies contract plans and designs while meeting deadlines. Promptly alerting the Project Team Leader of any problems is critical.

This position works within a team concept, managing support staff and coordinating scheduling through the Project Team Leader. It is partially remote, requiring office attendance a minimum of three days per week. Travel throughout Indiana, including overnight stays, is required.

The role offers the opportunity to lead projects independently with minimal instruction while maintaining client confidentiality. Responsibilities include assembling Supplements, Proposals, and Engineer’s Reports. Professional growth is supported through ongoing engagement with INDOT standards and processes. This provides valuable experience managing all aspects of transportation projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent
  • Professional Engineer in State of Indiana, or able to obtain within 12 months
  • Not less than 8 years in Transportation Engineering
  • Proficient in use of the Indiana Design Manual, the INDOT Specifications Book, the INDOT Standard Drawings, the INDOT Utility Coordination process and the INDOT Pavement Design process
  • Working knowledge of the INDOT Environmental process, the INDOT Permitting process and the INDOT Land Acquisition process
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Projects, and ACAD software
  • Able to work independently with minimal instruction
  • Possess strong communication skills
