About this role
This position supports environmental programs across Georgia Power by helping ensure Enablon (GPC’s EMIS) and related Environmental Management System (EMS) processes provide practical value to the business. The role combines information system support, process improvement, and cross-functional collaboration to strengthen compliance assurance and improve data quality.
Day-to-day responsibilities include maintaining the quality and relevance of Enablon content, such as tasks, inspections, checklists, and agency interaction data, by partnering with subject matter experts. You will drive adoption of Enablon by providing first-tier user support and coordinating second-tier support with software vendors, consultants, and internal IT as needed.
You will build relationships with Environmental Affairs subject matter experts and facility personnel to provide trusted support and improve process consistency. The role also advocates for the consistent implementation of the Environmental Management System (EMS) program across all facilities and supports the compliance assurance field team as needed.
This position may be filled as an analyst, specialist, or engineer depending on educational background, experience, and qualifications. The role offers the opportunity to coordinate and strengthen the Environmental Affairs Training Program and support continuous improvement of EMS documentation and performance reporting for leadership.
Requirements
- Practical experience with one or more environmental regulations affecting air, water, or waste
- Ability to understand Georgia Power’s business and operations
- Ability to build strong working relationships with subject matter experts, facility personnel, and other internal stakeholders
- Experience supporting environmental management information systems or similar compliance software
- Ability to analyze data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities
- Experience developing and delivering training materials and live user training
Responsibilities
- Support the sustainment and continuous improvement of Enablon to enable accurate, efficient, and useful environmental compliance assurance reporting
- Maintain the quality and relevance of Enablon content, including tasks, inspections, checklists, and agency interaction data, by partnering with subject matter experts
- Drive adoption of Enablon by providing first-tier user support and coordinating second-tier support with software vendors, consultants, and internal IT as needed
- Support software enhancements and new applications or modules, including the creation of job aids, training materials, and delivery of live user training
- Analyze Enablon data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities, including preparation of reports and dashboards
- Develop an understanding of Georgia Power’s operations and how they connect to environmental compliance requirements
- Coordinate and strengthen the Environmental Affairs Training Program to help ensure personnel understand compliance obligations and procedures
- Support the Environmental Recordkeeping Program and help ensure alignment with Southern Company’s Record Information Management (RIM) program
