About this role
Reporting to the VP of Assets, the Construction Project Manager plans, coordinates, and oversees all phases of development projects from request for proposal to construction and closeout. Ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget, in compliance with plans and specifications, and to the highest quality standards. Manages typical projects like manufactured housing developments and major capital projects concurrently across multiple locations and states.
Oversees daily construction activities to ensure adherence to plans, schedules, safety protocols, and quality expectations. Manages subcontractors, vendors, and on-site personnel while conducting regular site meetings and progress reviews. Resolves field issues promptly, coordinating with design and engineering teams, and monitors milestones and critical paths.
Serves as the primary point of contact between ownership, subcontractors, consultants, and internal teams. Prepares regular progress reports, schedules, and financial updates with thorough documentation. Operates in a fast-paced, safety-sensitive environment managing multiple stakeholders and concurrent projects.
Demonstrates competencies in treating everyone with respect, compassion, and kindness while building internal loyalty. Shows integrity, transparency, and collaboration by involving key stakeholders in decision-making. Turns challenges into wins through empathy, problem-solving, and teamwork.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field (preferred)
- 5+ years of experience managing construction or development projects; experience with ground-up and/or multifamily/commercial projects is a plus
- Strong understanding of construction means and methods, scheduling, budgeting, and contract administration
- Proficiency in project management software (Procore, MS Project, Bluebeam, etc.)
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to job sites as needed
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily construction activities to ensure adherence to plans, schedules, safety protocols, and quality expectations
- Manage subcontractors, vendors, and on-site personnel; conduct regular site meetings and progress reviews
- Resolve field issues promptly and effectively, coordinating with design and engineering teams as necessary
- Monitor project milestones, critical paths, and potential delays, implementing corrective actions as needed
- Manage project budgets, forecasts, and cash flows
- Review and approve invoices, change orders, and subcontractor pay applications
- Track costs and variances, ensuring proactive management of overruns and savings opportunities
- Conduct routine quality inspections, oversee punch lists, testing, inspections, and final project turnover
