The Senior Construction Project Manager oversees construction projects through engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning.

Manages medium- to large-scale transmission and distribution (T&D) or generation capital construction activities. Serves as program project manager (PPM) or project manager (PM) for large, complex generation, substation, transmission and distribution projects. Accountable for meeting goals for safety, budget, schedule, scope, resources, compliance and quality.

Develops overall project plans including schedule and cost baselines, dependencies, roles, resource requirements and risk mitigation. Monitors activities relating to permitting, engineering, procurement and construction. Establishes formal project control processes and engages stakeholders to ensure environmental, cultural and community requirements are met.

Works independently with guidance only in the most complex situations and may lead functional teams or projects. Interprets internal or external business issues and recommends best practices. Part of teams advancing innovative clean energy solutions that are affordable and accessible to all.

Requirements

  • Specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise in construction project management
  • Interpret internal or external business issues and recommend best practices
  • Solve complex problems and take a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions
  • Work independently with guidance only in the most complex situations
  • Lead functional teams or projects
  • Develop technical specifications, prepare requests for proposals (RFPs) and evaluate bids
  • Assess technologies, potential sites, capital costs, operating and maintenance costs for projects
  • Manage project controls and integrate processes across PGE organizations

Responsibilities

  • Manage medium- to large-scale transmission and distribution (T&D) or generation capital construction activities
  • Oversee long- and short-term utility infrastructure development, repair, upgrade and replacement programs
  • Serve as program project manager (PPM) responsible for project goals including safety, budget, schedule, scope, resources, compliance and quality
  • Serve as project manager (PM) for large, complex generation, substation, transmission and distribution projects
  • Develop overall project plan including schedule and cost baselines, dependencies, roles, resource requirements and risk mitigation
  • Monitor project activities relating to permitting, engineering, procurement and construction
  • Establish formal project control processes, track variances from baselines and take corrective actions
  • Engage stakeholders to ensure projects deliver quality and value while meeting environmental, cultural and community requirements
