About this role

TxDOT's Bridge Division is looking for a Project Development Project Manager to join a team managing the Bridge Rehabilitation and Bridge Replacement Funding Program. This program focuses on planned and programmatic bridge preservation, rehabilitation, and replacement projects across Texas.

Texas maintains an inventory of over 57,000 bridges—28,000 more than any other state and more than the combined inventories of 17 states. In this role, you will help manage bridge projects aimed at improving the condition of the largest bridge program in the country.

Requirements

  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Texas or ability to obtain within six months
  • Experience in bridge design, rehabilitation, or project management
  • Knowledge of bridge preservation and replacement program processes
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
  • Strong technical and leadership skills to guide bridge improvement projects
  • Familiarity with TxDOT standards, specifications, and procedures

Responsibilities

  • Manage bridge rehabilitation and replacement projects within the Bridge Rehabilitation and Bridge Replacement Funding Program
  • Oversee planned and programmatic bridge preservation, rehabilitation, and replacement projects
  • Coordinate project development activities from scoping through final design and construction
  • Monitor project schedules, budgets, and compliance with program requirements
  • Collaborate with internal teams, contractors, and local agencies to advance project delivery
  • Ensure projects align with TxDOT's goals for improving bridge condition statewide
  • Provide technical guidance and leadership to support the largest bridge program in the country
