Moffatt & Nichol specializes in large complex waterfront infrastructure projects and is recognized as one of the worldwide leaders in this field. The New York City office is searching for a Senior Marine Structural Engineer to serve as technical lead on waterfront structures projects. You will be actively engaged on large port development and coastal resiliency projects.
You will develop and maintain standards for the design of marine structures and foundations, utilizing cast-in-place and prestressed concrete, steel, and timber. Conduct structural analysis and design, perform QA/QC reviews, and prepare deliverables including plans, calculations, specifications, estimates, reports, and memorandums. This role involves working with teams across the company on marine infrastructure engineering projects.
Interface and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams of engineers, planners, scientists, and architects. Serve global clients from offices in Europe, North America, Latin America, and the Pacific Rim. Focus areas include ports and harbors, coastal resiliency, urban waterfronts, transportation, bridges, and energy.
Provide guidance and technical leadership to junior staff, ensuring adherence to industry best practices. Participate in training and mentorship to support professional growth. Engage directly with clients, conduct quality reviews as Senior Technical Reviewer, and build strong relationships for project success.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- Master's degree in Structural Engineering preferred
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required
- Proficiency in marine structures and foundations design using cast-in-place concrete, prestressed concrete, steel, and timber
- Experience conducting structural analysis and design for waterfront projects
- Ability to perform QA/QC reviews and prepare engineering deliverables
- Technical leadership and mentorship skills for junior structural engineers

- Conduct quality reviews of deliverables, serving as a Senior Technical Reviewer to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance
- Engage directly with clients, providing technical expertise, addressing concerns, and building strong relationships
