About this role
Our Geotechnical Team in Ontario is expanding and we are looking for an experienced Geotechnical Engineer. This position is based in Vaughan but may consider applicants in the greater Toronto area. The role involves working on exciting projects in transportation, highways, rail, municipal roads and bridges.
As part of our team, you will work closely with AtkinsRéalis professionals across multiple sectors like transportation, rail & transit, energy, and industrial. You will participate on multi-disciplinary teams and projects of all scales, executing major programs and supporting complex proposals. You will mentor junior staff and help develop our infrastructure geotechnics capability.
We require a professional with strong geotechnical engineering experience and a relevant university degree. You must hold a P.Eng. License in Ontario with at least three years in that role and over six years of geotechnical experience. Proven experience in tunnels, highways, rail, municipal roads, and bridges is essential, with Ministry of Transportation Ontario experience considered a strong asset.

Requirements
- Must have 3+ years of holding a P.Eng. License and practicing in Ontario.
- Over 6+ years of strong Geotechnical Engineering experience.
- Strong academic background with a relevant university degree.
- Proven experience in tunnels, highways, rail, municipal roads, and bridges.
- Experience with the Ministry of Transportation in Ontario considered a strong asset.
- Project management experience and understanding of engineering consultancy and design markets.
- Proven geotechnical design experience with excellent interpersonal and technical skills.
- Ability to support the development of teams and junior staff.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with AtkinsRéalis professionals in multiple sectors including transportation, rail & transit, energy, and industrial.
- Participate on multi-disciplinary teams and collaborate on projects of all scales.
- Execute major programs, support complex proposals, mentor junior staff, and act as technical reference.
- Develop and expand the infrastructure geotechnics capability by building on the existing portfolio.
- Conduct geotechnical site investigations and subsurface explorations to support project design.
- Perform geotechnical analysis and design for foundations, retaining walls, and slopes.
- Prepare geotechnical reports, specifications, and drawings for infrastructure projects.
- Collaborate with project managers to ensure timely and quality project delivery.
