About this role
Geosyntec has an exciting opportunity for a Geotechnical Engineering Intern in the Chattanooga office. The position offers the opportunity to apply engineering academic knowledge to real-world situations while learning business skills for a successful consulting career. It is 20-40 hours/week for approximately 13 to 15 weeks, with preferred candidates able to return for up to two additional semester rotations.
Interns will assist with engineering calculations, write technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals, and perform data input and analysis including preparing maps, tables, and figures. They will follow instructions and interact with engineers, geologists, office administrative staff, CADD operators, contractors, and construction personnel. Potential field support includes monitoring, geotechnical and environmental investigation, and construction projects.

Requirements
- Outstanding academic credentials and exceptional interpersonal, technical writing, oral and written communication, and problem-solving skills
- Strong oral communication and technical writing skills
- Experience with ArcView, CADD, and/or Microsoft Office
- Valid U.S. driver’s license, reliable transportation, and satisfactory driving record for business travel to project sites
Responsibilities
