At EXP, our Transportation Engineering team delivers innovative solutions for the world's built and natural environments. We are seeking an experienced Bridge Engineer to join our team in Fredericton or Halifax, contributing to the design, planning, and rehabilitation of roadway structures.

In this role, you will lead and participate in condition assessments of bridges and roadway structures. You will plan schematic/geometric layouts and perform structural analysis and design calculations in compliance with Canadian design codes, utilizing advanced software such as STAAD, Altair Suite, and StructurePoint Suite.

Collaborating with drafting teams, you will prepare construction drawings and details, conduct material quantity take-offs, cost estimates, and life-cycle analyses. You will also support construction administration through shop drawing reviews and RFIs on impactful transportation projects across Canada.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
  • 4–8 years of experience in bridge design and evaluation.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) registration in a Canadian province, with intent to register in New Brunswick (mandatory).
  • Experience with OSIM bridge inspections or similar standards.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D and MS Office.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and participate in bridge and roadway structure condition assessments.
  • Plan and develop schematic/geometric layouts for new structures.
  • Perform structural analysis and design calculations in compliance with Canadian design codes.
  • Utilize advanced software tools such as STAAD, Altair Suite, and StructurePoint Suite for structural design.
  • Collaborate with drafting teams to prepare construction drawings and details.
  • Conduct material quantity take-offs, cost estimates, and life-cycle analyses.
  • Assist in preparing construction specifications and design briefs.
  • Support construction administration, including shop drawing reviews and RFIs.
