About this role

EBC carries out major infrastructure projects including bridges, roads, highways, tunnels and marine installations. The company has contributed to landmark developments such as the Samuel-De-Champlain Bridge, the Réseau Express Métropolitain and the Site C hydro-electric power station. The Project Manager - Civil plays a central role in delivering these large-scale civil works on time and within budget.

Daily work centers on reviewing tender documents and estimates to define scope, schedule and project planning. The manager maintains complete knowledge of drawings, specifications and addendums while supporting the Site Superintendent. Quantity tracking, cost coding, material ordering and daily progress reports ensure accurate forecasting and productivity analysis.

Leadership duties include building effective relationships with clients, subcontractors, consultants and workers. The role requires organizing meetings, managing document control for RFIs and submittals, and maintaining clear communication across suppliers and the project team. Regular site inspections and safety reporting support compliance and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Thorough understanding of civil construction tender documents, drawings and specifications
  • Experience coordinating with site superintendents, subcontractors and suppliers on infrastructure projects
  • Ability to perform quantity tracking, cost coding and accurate cost forecasting
  • Strong organizational skills for document control, RFIs, submittals and as-built records
  • Willingness to travel extensively to project sites

Responsibilities

  • Review tender documents and estimates to determine scope of work, scheduling and project planning
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of tender documents, drawings, specifications and addendums to support project success
  • Provide leadership and maintain effective relationships with clients, staff, subcontractors, consultants and workers
  • Inform Senior Project Manager of project development and methods to meet schedule and budget
  • Order critical materials with suppliers in collaboration with the Superintendent
  • Perform quantity tracking and cost coding for productivity analysis and cost forecasting
  • Prepare daily reports on crew, progress and issues; provide document control for correspondence, submittals and RFIs
  • Conduct daily site inspections and audits; provide safety-related information to management
