This position is responsible for performing structural analysis, engineering and drafting tasks related to cold formed steel framing in a fast paced high volume professional office environment. The role centers on delivering accurate shop drawing and calculation packages for external and internal customers.

Daily responsibilities include producing CAD/BIM detail drawings of curtain wall and load bearing structures with section views and 3D isometrics. Engineers complete structural calculations using analysis programs or manual methods while ensuring all deliverables receive internal review and approval before submission.

Collaboration occurs with the General Manager, Engineering Manager, Project Managers and Engineering Technicians throughout the design process. The position requires maintaining courteous customer relationships through prompt technical support and building connections with account representatives and regional sales staff.

Requirements

Ability to produce CAD/BIM drawings for cold-formed steel structures
Proficiency with structural analysis programs and manual calculation methods
Skill in interpreting structural drawings accurately
Capability to format calculations for internal review and client submission
Knowledge of cold-formed steel framing design and detailing practices

Responsibilities

Produce a CAD/BIM production detail drawing package of cold-formed steel structures including curtain wall and load bearing plan views
Produce the design of cold-formed steel structures including curtain and load bearing wall, lateral bracing and truss designs
Produce calculations in a logical, reviewable and presentable format for internal review and client submission
Perform structural calculations using analysis programs or manual methods as necessary
Read and accurately interpret drawings and notify Project Manager of any scheduling conflicts
Maintain relationships with customers through courteous phone conversations and prompt technical support
Independently make decisions on methods to employ in structural design to protect public safety
Ensure project drawings and calculations are reviewed and approved by the Project Manager or Engineering Manager
