The Field Operations Manager provides overall administrative and technical direction for one large, complex project and may direct several smaller projects through subordinate managers.

This role exercises ultimate authority on assigned projects while overseeing total construction effort. Responsibilities include interfacing with client representatives, A/E representatives, union officials, and subcontractors to ensure work aligns with design, budget, and schedule requirements.

Daily work involves planning and supervising all company personnel on site. The manager authorizes project personnel transactions, purchase requisitions, and change requests while maintaining official project logs and documentation files.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 10-15 years of industry experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction including technology, equipment, methods, and finance.
  • Knowledge of company policies, procedures and standards, union jurisdiction, labor agreements, and negotiations.
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational, supervisory and planning skills.
  • Skilled in assuming responsibility and reaching deadlines.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee total construction effort to ensure project is constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule.
  • Plan, coordinate and supervise activities of all company personnel on assigned project(s).
  • Authorize and approve all project personnel transactions, purchase requisitions, and change requests.
  • Assist in union jurisdictional disputes and negotiations as required.
  • Ensure all company, client, and project policies, procedures, and standards are adhered to.
  • Maintain official project log and documentation files.
  • Provide direction to planning, scheduling, and engineering functions as required.
  • Assist with implementation and interpretation of safety programs.
