About this role

The Mechanical Wet/Dry Systems Construction Manager works within the Construction Management department and reports directly to the Mechanical Project Manager. This role addresses complex mechanical coordination issues while collaborating closely with design professionals, clients, subcontractors, and craftspeople on large hi-tech projects.

Daily oversight includes managing the Mechanical Team and leading on-site quality control efforts. The manager interfaces between Area Construction Managers and multiple subcontractors to coordinate system startups and commissioning activities while verifying all documentation is complete.

Work occurs fully at the project site in Childress, TX, where the manager serves as the technical advisor in the onsite field construction office. Responsibilities span coordinating MEP systems with civil, architectural, and structural elements while running startup meetings with design teams, utility agencies, and owners.

The position offers salary of $100,000 to $150,000 DOE plus 12% geo-uplift, per diem, and incentives. The role provides opportunities to secure subcontractors, manage contracts, and assist in estimating mechanical budgets while developing strong field leadership experience.

Requirements

  • Experience working in cleanroom environments.
  • Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Teams) with general understanding of computer networks.
  • Experience with project management software such as Prolog, Procore, E-Builder, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, and Primavera Project Planner (P6).
  • Experience with design software such as AutoCAD, Revit and Navisworks.
  • Training in design and construction document reading, design specifications, survey theory and techniques.
  • Experience organizing technical data in a neat and accurate method; familiar with CSI specification system for construction.
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of all aspects of low voltage electrical construction.
  • Ability to work well and maintain a cooperative attitude through high-pressure situations with excellent time-management and multi-tasking skills.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee HVAC/exhaust subcontractor and vendor installation work daily to ensure schedule adherence and support system startup and commissioning activities.
  • Interface between Area Construction Managers and multiple subcontractors to coordinate mechanical and electrical system startups.
  • Verify all documentation is complete and ensure equipment is construction complete and safe to start.
  • Coordinate MEP systems with civil, architectural, and structural elements within the overall project design.
  • Organize and facilitate training of clients' personnel in the operations and maintenance of MEP systems.
  • Run startup meetings involving Area Construction Managers, design team members, subcontractors, local utility agencies, and owners.
  • Review and process project submittal information and coordinate between multiple submittals to ensure accuracy and functionality of MEP systems.
  • Secure mechanical subcontractors and equipment buyout while managing subcontractor contracts and contract modifications.
