KPFF Consulting Engineers seeks a Structural Project Manager to contribute to civic buildings, healthcare facilities, residential construction, and research laboratory structures. The role combines technical tasks such as structural analysis and seismic design with supervision of others throughout all project phases.
Daily work includes designing gravity, lateral, and foundation systems for new buildings and retrofit projects in high seismic zones. The position requires performing analysis using ETABS, RISA, and similar software while producing calculation packages and structural drawings for permit and construction.

Requirements
- Seven years of full-time work experience as an engineer in a structural consulting organization.
- BS in Civil Engineering.
- Experience designing structures in accordance with ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISC 360, and California Building Code.
- Proficiency with finite element analysis software such as ETABS, RISA, SAFE, and RAM Steel.
Responsibilities
- Design gravity, lateral, and foundation systems for new buildings and retrofit projects in high seismic hazard zones.
- Perform structural analysis and seismic design using ETABS, RISA, SAFE, and RAM Steel.
- Design main building systems including columns, beams, footings, and diaphragms in concrete, steel, and masonry.
- Produce comprehensive calculation packages, structural drawings, and details for permit and construction.
- Support construction administration including submittal review, RFI coordination, and drawing development.
- Provide technical guidance and oversight to junior engineers to ensure conformance with project design requirements.
- Supervise project engineers and design engineers in construction administration tasks and quality control of documents.
