About this role

At Aurecon, we see the future through a very different lens, and we are looking for a Structural Engineer to join us in Petaling Jaya. In this role, you will support the full lifecycle of structural engineering design, from conceptualisation to detailed analysis, while ensuring all outputs meet project requirements and client expectations.

Your day-to-day work will involve performing analysis, design, and code checks using software such as STAADPRO, TEDDS, SAP2000, ETABS, and SAFE. You will configure structural framing based on project requirements, model correct stiffness and boundary conditions, and produce reports and drawings at required project datelines and qualities.

You will take initiative in managing assigned responsibilities proactively, ensuring accountability for deadlines and quality of work. You will also collaborate across internal and external interfaces, applying your skills to projects in other geographies and markets as part of diverse, cross-functional teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Structural or equivalent
  • BEM registration as Graduate Engineer
  • Preferably with 2 to 3 years of experience in a technical position in an engineering consulting firm
  • Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply
  • Knowledge of engineering software and their limitations including STAADPRO, TEDDS, SAP2000, ETABS, and SAFE
  • Able to work independently with minimum supervision
  • Good communication skills in spoken and written English
  • Possess knowledge of codes, standards, and client specifications for architectural, reinforced concrete, structural steel, foundation, and infrastructure/underground works

Responsibilities

  • Support the full lifecycle of structural engineering design from conceptualisation to detailed analysis
  • Perform analysis, design, and code checks using engineering software including STAADPRO, TEDDS, SAP2000, ETABS, and SAFE
  • Configure effective structural framing and foundation types based on project requirements
  • Model correct stiffness and boundary conditions, and perform load modelling as per client requirements
  • Produce reports and drawings at required project datelines and qualities
  • Take initiative in managing assigned responsibilities proactively, ensuring accountability for deadlines and quality of work
  • Manage internal and external interfaces, ensuring timely follow-ups and adherence to project specifications
