About this role

The Construction Project Manager oversees and executes all aspects of Apollo Mechanical Contractors projects in Spokane, WA. This includes tracking project-level financials and reporting to leadership through the company financial reporting system on a regular basis.

Daily work centers on coordinating subcontractors with site supervisors and clients while producing and managing project CPM schedules. The role also involves developing scope of work and guaranteed maximum costs through site reviews, estimating, and risk assessment.

The position requires managing subcontractors and vendors with clear communication, scope definition, and change management while negotiating subcontracts. Client change order management includes assembling estimates and proposals and conducting negotiations to maintain project momentum.

Success depends on documenting critical communications, leading project meetings, and mentoring assigned staff. The manager builds client relationships to ensure satisfaction and identify future opportunities within the mechanical construction sector.

Requirements

  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
  • Display sound judgement, diplomacy and tact
  • Financial aptitude
  • Interpret drawings, specifications and other technical documents with preference for mechanical HVAC experience
  • Manage time effectively and learn and adapt quickly
  • Microsoft Office Suite particularly Excel
  • CPM scheduling utilizing Primavera or MS Project
  • 5 years of managing projects in the construction industry

Responsibilities

  • Track and forecast project-level financials and report to leadership at regular intervals utilizing company financial reporting system
  • Coordinate and schedule subcontractors with site supervisors and the client
  • Develop scope of work and guaranteed maximum construction costs through site reviews, estimating, and risk review participation
  • Produce and manage project CPM schedules
  • Assemble estimates and change order proposals and negotiate with client
  • Manage subcontractors and vendors through effective communication, subcontract scope, and change management while negotiating subcontracts
  • Document and keep record of all critical project communications
  • Attend, lead, and document project meetings while mentoring assigned staff
