About this role
Contribute to the ongoing growth of Stantec by providing technical inputs with minimum supervision in specialist areas of gravity network design and modelling for stormwater and sewerage. Be involved in the implementation and delivery of leading-edge programmes and projects. Support team outcomes in profit, schedule, technical, and quality standards meeting Client and Stantec expectations.
Assist senior/lead hydraulic modeler for infrastructure sector projects with minimum supervision. Provide support on technical matters related to engineering designs and regulatory compliance. Deliver projects preferably in US, Canada, ANZ, and/or UK regions.
Work within hydraulic modelling team including modelers and drafting team. Handle model build, calibration, validation, optioneering, and outline design of hydraulic solutions. Assist in preparation of technical reports and drawings while ensuring quality deliverables.
Manage large data sets for analysis and carry out duties as assigned by supervisor. Demonstrate potential to analyze project issues and complexities. Commit to attention to detail, workflows, and personal/professional development.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in civil/water resources/environmental engineering with 4+ years of experience and 3+ years managing hydraulic modelling design projects in US, Canada, ANZ and/or UK
- Knowledgeable in 1D and 2D hydraulic modelling, model building/calibration/validation, hydraulics and hydrology for stormwater management/networks, site drainage and sewerage
- Expected hydraulic modelling software exposure: InfoDrainage, Causeway Flow, MicroDrainage, 12D Drainage, SewerGEMS, ICPR and/or PCSWMM
- Exposure to InfoSWMM, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, Civil3D, WaterGEMS etc. an added advantage
- Working exposure to Common Data Environment tools: ProjectWise, AutoDesk Construction Cloud, Sharepoint preferable
- Good data management/interpretation/representation abilities using MS Excel, Power BI
- Good technical report writing abilities
- Able to interact with Clients and analyze project issues and complexities
Responsibilities
- Work within hydraulic modelling team to deliver transportation/area drainage and sewerage projects
- Perform model build, calibration and validation as required with minimum support
- Conduct optioneering and outline design of hydraulic solutions as guided
- Assist in preparation of technical reports and drawings as required
- Ensure quality deliverables meeting Client standards
- Handle and manage large data sets for analysis
- Carry out other duties as assigned by supervisor/management
- Coordinate with Clients occasionally, including off-working hours and offshore travel
