About this role

BCC Engineering, a Parsons Company, seeks an entry-level Associate Drainage Engineer. Be trained and mentored under the supervision of a licensed engineer in utilizing engineering theories and practices. Gain valuable exposure to company standards and exciting infrastructure projects.

Perform spread calculations, hydrologic and hydraulic analysis and design, drainage tabulation analysis, and drainage map delineation to create plans for FDOT and other clients. Approach tasks with an open mindset and propose innovative solutions to design problems. Prepare engineering reports and contract documents for review by a licensed engineer.

Communicate effectively with team members and internal design groups, with external communication as required. Effectively present proposed design solutions in internal project meetings and contribute to external presentations. Work with internal and external sources on Environmental Resource Permitting of projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
  • 0-3 years experience
  • Knowledge of engineering theories and practices
  • Familiarity with FDOT drainage design standards
  • Ability to conduct hydrologic and hydraulic analysis
  • Proficiency in drainage tabulation and map delineation

Responsibilities

  • Under the supervision of a licensed engineer, perform spread calculations, hydrologic and hydraulic analysis and design, drainage tabulation analysis, and drainage map delineation to create plans for FDOT and other clients
  • Approach tasks with an open mindset and propose innovative solutions to design problems
  • Prepare engineering reports and contract documents for review by a licensed engineer
  • Track and provide initial review of tasks performed by technicians or designers
  • Manage timely completion of multiple assigned tasks
  • Communicate effectively with team members and internal design groups
  • Present proposed design solutions as part of internal project meetings
  • Work with internal and external sources on Environmental Resource Permitting of projects
