We seek a motivated, hands-on Geotechnical Engineer with 2 years of experience to join our North QLD team. This role involves fieldwork, data collection and processing, design, and reporting on meaningful infrastructure, transmission, and renewable energy projects. Placement is available in any CMW Geosciences North QLD office location.

Work alongside a talented technical team using engineering and geological principles based on gained experience. Undertake technical and non-technical tasks directed by senior personnel, with support and training provided. Collaborate at the direction of senior staff to progress all aspects of project delivery.

Requirements

  • Civil Engineering, Geology or Earth Science Degree
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience e.g. as part of a consultancy / geotechnical consultancy
  • Onsite experience
  • Previous exposure to proposal preparation and technical report writing
  • Full Australian drivers license
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional organisation and communication skills, both verbal and written

Responsibilities

  • Develop technical solutions with the technical team using engineering and geological principles based on experience
  • Undertake technical and non-technical tasks at the direction of senior professional personnel with support and training
  • Carry out fieldwork, data collection/processing, design, and reporting
  • Support senior technical staff in progressing all aspects of project delivery
  • Perform geotechnical site investigations for construction and infrastructure projects
  • Analyze soil and rock data to provide design advice for energy sector developments
  • Contribute to transmission line and renewable energy project geotechnics
