Geo-Technology Associates, Inc. (GTA) seeks a Geotechnical Engineer with 3 to 7 years of experience for its Charlotte, North Carolina office. This role supports the Construction Observation & Testing group on civil engineering and infrastructure projects. Join a team focused on geotechnical exploration and analysis.
Daily tasks include coordinating and managing drilling projects, overseeing junior staff for visual classification and log preparation. Review laboratory testing and complete accurate geotechnical exploration reports. Perform engineering calculations for settlement, bearing capacity, lateral earth pressures, pavement section designs, and slope stability.

Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering or related field of study
- P.E. or EIT REQUIRED
- 4 to 7 years of relevant geotechnical engineering experience
- Own transportation, valid driver's license and good driving record
- Enjoy working outdoors
- NICET, ACI and/or other certifications desired
Responsibilities
- Provide task support to the Construction Observation & Testing group
- Coordinate and manage drilling projects and oversee junior staff with visual classification and log preparation
- Coordinate and review laboratory testing
- Complete accurate geotechnical exploration reports
- Perform engineering calculations, including settlement, bearing capacity, lateral earth pressures, pavement section designs, slope stability
- Generate scopes and fees for new projects and prepare complete proposals and budgets
