Leidos Engineering provides expertise in cutting-edge energy technologies and independent oversight for utilities and local governments. We are seeking a Licensed Senior Civil/Structural Engineer with experience in the utility industry to perform design engineering and reviews.

The position involves performing design reviews of substation structure design, rigid bus design, foundation design, and oil spill containment. Additional reviews cover retaining walls, masonry control shelters, and firewalls in support of bid and construction packages.

As a senior member of the design team, you will lead projects and develop junior staff members. Site visits to client substation facilities are expected along with occasional travel for client meetings and industry events.

Requirements

PE License Required in PA, OH, WV, MD, NJ or the ability to obtain licensure in these states within 3-12 months
SE licensure is preferred
Experience with Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint & MATHCAD software, required
Experience with RISA 3-D, STAAD.Pro, FAD, SAG10, and LPILE software, required
Familiarity with AutoCAD and MicroStation required
Strong analytical and technical writing skills
Team player with ability to communicate with clients and staff

Responsibilities

Perform design reviews of civil/structural components for substation projects
Lead projects as a senior engineer
Develop junior staff members
Conduct site visits to client substation facilities
Travel occasionally for client meetings and industry-related events
Ensure compliance with quality control and safe work practices
Maintain compliance with project scope, schedule, and budget expectations
