This entry-level position suits recent college graduates with a Civil Engineering degree eager for a career in environmental compliance and management in aggregates and asphalt highway construction. The role reports to the Regional Environmental Manager and supports key environmental initiatives across operations. It involves leading safety, quality, and revenue generation efforts.

Daily tasks include assisting with site compliance and permitting for air, water, mining regulations, and participating in audits at quarries, asphalt plants, shops, and construction sites. You will collect samples, enter environmental data, prepare reports, and analyze data to support operations. Additional duties cover project coordination and employee training on required records.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering
  • EIT (Engineer-In-Training) certification preferred
  • Basic understanding of Federal and State Mining, Water, and Air Regulations
  • Familiarity with 401 and 404 permitting processes is a plus
  • Knowledge of erosion and sedimentation processes and practices
  • Experience with AutoCAD software is preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SharePoint
  • Valid Driver’s License and ability to travel as required

Responsibilities

  • Assist with site compliance and permitting regarding air, water, mining, and other applicable regulations
  • Support preparation and submission of modification and renewal applications for water, air, mining, and other permits
  • Participate in site audits for quarries, asphalt plants, shops, and construction sites
  • Collect samples to support environmental compliance
  • Enter environmental data, prepare reports, and analyze data in support of operations
  • Contribute to project management and coordination efforts
  • Assist in preparing, presenting, and training employees on necessary records and reports required to be maintained on site
  • Coordinate and communicate effectively with municipal and State Agencies under the guidance of senior staff
