Cundall’s leading Sustainability & Building Physics team is a key part of our international business. As a recognised leader in sustainability, our team designs innovative, sustainable and energy efficient solutions that minimise natural resources. We seek placements passionate about making a positive impact on the environment, homes, offices, industry and community.

This Summer Placement in Bristol starting 2026 offers talented Sustainability students a chance to work on exciting sustainable design projects in the UK and worldwide. Under guidance of the experienced team, develop knowledge in energy modelling and assist with energy and sustainability strategies for new build and existing buildings. Projects span building physics, performance optimisation, certification, health, net zero and ESG services.

As a medium-sized international consultancy, we provide a wide range of challenging projects while treating students as individuals with real responsibility from an early stage. Operating throughout the UK, Australia, Asia, MENA and Europe, our global reach enriches project diversity. You'll collaborate in a supportive environment focused on sustainability leadership.

Gain greater responsibility and autonomy as skills develop, with support towards Chartership via accredited training schemes. Requirements

  • On track to achieve a 2:1 or above
  • Working towards a degree in Sustainability or Building Services Engineering
  • Preferably in second or third year of study
  • Passion for improving the built environment
  • Interest in design and sustainable design principles

Responsibilities

  • Develop existing knowledge and skills in energy modelling
  • Assist with development of energy and sustainability strategies for new build and existing buildings
  • Work on building physics and parametric model services
  • Contribute to building performance and operational energy optimisation
  • Support certification and compliance activities
  • Provide health and wellbeing advice and guidance
  • Engage in net zero and whole life carbon services
  • Participate in sustainability design and ESG services
