About this role
STV’s Maryland Transportation team is seeking a motivated Traffic Engineering Specialist to support traffic and roadway design projects across Maryland and the broader Mid-Atlantic region. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and growing team of engineers focused on improving transportation networks through innovative and data-driven solutions.
You’ll conduct traffic operational analysis for roadway and intersection improvements, perform transportation safety and crash data analysis, and support multimodal design of pedestrian and bicycle facilities. Assist with traffic signal coordination and timing while developing design concepts using AutoCAD and/or MicroStation based on client needs.
Work alongside experienced professionals while mentoring with peers to help public agencies deliver safer, more efficient, and multimodal transportation systems. Collaborate with planners, engineers, and stakeholders to deliver impactful solutions.

Requirements
- 0-4 years of relevant traffic/transportation engineering experience or internship experience
- Exposure to traffic analysis software (e.g., Synchro, HCS, or similar)
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Exposure to MicroStation and/or AutoCAD
- Strong communication and technical writing skills
- Interest in Maryland DOT, local county agencies, or Mid-Atlantic transportation projects
Responsibilities
