We are seeking a skilled and motivated Traffic Engineer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate holds a Professional Engineer (PE) license in Florida or is eligible to obtain one within six months, with hands-on experience in transportation and traffic projects statewide.

This role involves preparing and managing FDOT Driveway Connection Permit applications, developing Traffic Impact Statements for cities and counties, and conducting traffic modeling using Synchro/SimTraffic. You will perform traffic signal design including plans and timing sheets aligned with FDOT standards. Responsibilities also include preparing technical reports and coordinating with clients, project managers, and permitting agencies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • Florida PE license, or ability to obtain within 6 months
  • 3+ years of experience in traffic or transportation engineering
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving history
  • Proficiency in Synchro/SimTraffic
  • Experience with FDOT driveway connection permitting
  • Experience with Traffic Impact Statements for local municipalities
  • Experience with traffic signal design

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and manage FDOT Driveway Connection Permit applications, including technical documentation and coordination with FDOT reviewers
  • Develop Traffic Impact Statements (TIS) for cities and counties throughout Florida
  • Conduct operational analyses and traffic modeling using Synchro/SimTraffic, including scenario development and LOS evaluation
  • Perform traffic signal design, including plans, timing sheets, and coordination plans in alignment with FDOT and local agency standards
  • Prepare technical reports, design documents, and supporting calculations
  • Coordinate with clients, project managers, and permitting agencies
  • Support multidisciplinary teams on transportation engineering projects
